Scottish Water is about to start work on a £1.2 million scheme to improve its waste water infrastructure and tackle a flooding issue at two properties in the The Ness area of Dollar.

The improvement work, which is due to start on about April 13, will help address the issue of internal flooding which has affected the properties and enable Scottish Water to remove them from the register of properties at risk of flooding. The properties have suffered internal flooding from the public foul and combined sewers due to overloading of the system.

It will also enable the water company to tackle external flooding in the area.

The project, which is expected to be completed in August, will increase the capacity of the local network and provide additional storage. It will also enable the water company to tackle external flooding in the area.

The work, which will be carried out for Scottish Water by contractors Morrison Construction, will involve the upsizing of a 160-metre-long stretch of existing surface water sewers and providing additional capacity in the form of storage tanks for the foul sewer system.  A new storm attenuation tank will also be constructed below the playing fields in The Ness.
