VBA NORTH LINCS FLOOD CONTRACTThe VBA joint venture between VolkerStevin, Boskalis Westminster and Atkins, has won another local authority contract through the Environment Agency’s Water and Environment Management (WEM) framework – this time for North Lincolnshire Council.

Business water retailer Water Plus has secured a place on the LASER water buying framework which will allow it to be a water, waste water and ancillary services supplier to public sector organisations across the UK.

Yorkshire Water has appointed multi-national energy company ENGIE as energy supplier in a partnership which will see ENGIE deliver a flexible, competitive energy supply and the aim of reducing the water company’s annual  £53 million electricity costs.

Following on from its success in securing a place on the Crown Commercial Service framework earlier in the year, water retailer Business Stream has secured a place on a second English public sector water framework agreement, LASER.

Anglian Water has gone out to tender with a contract for repair and maintenance services of high voltage electrical distribution worth an estimated £2.4 million.

Sustec - TurboTecEnpure has won a competitively tendered ‘Design and Build’ contract, valued in excess of £20 million, with Severn Trent Water for the development of an Advanced Anaerobic Digestion (AAD) Plant at its Strongford Sewage Treatment Works, near Stoke-on-Trent, England.

United Utilities is embarking upon a strategic initiative to simplify, standardise and transform its existing network environment and is seeking supply chain input ahead of going out to formal tender in October.

The Environment Agency is planning to start a research study covering the assessment and management of risks with transitions in flood defence infrastructure.

The Environment Agency has gone out to with a contract for flood and coastal risk management services worth an estimated £68 million – the third multi-million pound tender put out by the Agency in the last two weeks.

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has gone out to tender with a contract with a term service contract for the maintenance of flood risk assets worth an estimated £1.2 million.
