 Barcelona-based P.S Apliclor, S.A was acquired by Severn Trent Services to expand the Spanish and southern European market for TETRA^® wastewater filters and to develop relationships with large Spanish consultants and contractors operating worldwide. Prior to acquisition, the company’s operations were focused exclusively on Spain, the Balearics and the Canary Islands.

North Africa, in particular, is an area in which Severn Trent Services - Apliclor is rapidly growing its business. Severn Trent Services - Apliclor currently operates in Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia and Egypt.

In Algeria, for example, the company, in partnership with ACCIONA AGUA, designed, constructed and installed the TETRA LP Block dual parallel underdrains for pre-treatment at the Fouka SWRO desalination plant, which is providing the country with greater water resources. The construction of a number of desalination and water reuse plants in the North Africa region also has been planned.
