Northern Ireland Water has gone out to tender with a £9 million contract to upgrade its Ballycastle Ballycastle Wastewater Treatment Works.
The principal drivers for the upgrade are compliance with a Water Order Consent and accommodating the projected increase in future population. Planning approval for the scheme was granted in April 2013. The contract, which is expected to run for eighteen months, incorporates design, construction, commissioning and performance testing.
Estimated value is put at between £8 million to £9 million.
