Eight joint ventures have been shortlisted for the main construction of the Thames Tideway Tunnel across three main works contracts: east, central and west.
A total of eighteen contractors make up the JVs for three separate areas as follows:
East
- Bam Nuttall, Balfour Beatty and Morgan Sindall
- Bechtel and Strabag
- Bouygues Travaux Publics
- Costain, Vinci and Bachy
- Hochtief and Murphy
Central
- Bam Nuttall, Balfour Beatty and Morgan Sindall
- Costain, Vinci and Bachy
- Ferrovial Agroman and Laing O’Rourke
- Skanska, Bilfinger and Razel Bec
West
- Bam Nuttall, Balfour Beatty and Morgan Sindall
- Costain, Vinci and Bachy
- Dragados and Samsung
- Ferrovial Agroman and Laing O’Rourke
Total value of the contracts is around £1.6 billion - the central contract is valued at between £600m and £950m, the east at between £500 and £800m and the west contract at between £300m and £500m. However, the contracts could be worth as much as £2.2 billion if the contracts reach the upper limits.
Preferred bidders will be announced in early 2015 with the contracts tendered on a staggered basis between November 2013 and April 2014.
