NI Water has awarded a contract for service, maintenance and repair of plant and agriculture machinery – approximately 410 assets - with a total value of £1.08 million including VAT.

Scope of the contract, which had an estimated value of £840,000 including VAT when it first went out to tender, will cover the maintenance, scheduled service and inspection, scheduled repair, unscheduled repair and safety inspection of NI Water's plant and agricultural machinery.
The water company will be responsible for scheduling of services and repairs in consultation and liaison with the appointed contractor. The scope of the service, maintenance and repairs will include all works necessary to ensure the NI Water’s plant and machinery is maintained so that it
remains safe to use, and that the maintenance operation is carried out safely.
Current estimated start and end contract dates are 1 October 2026 to 30 September 2029 with further possible extensions up to 30 September 2032.
The contract has been awarded to Maghera-based firm A.J. Armstrong & Sons Ltd, one of four companies who tendered for the work. Two tenders were assessed at the final stage. Standstill period ends on 1 September 2026 and earliest date the contract will be signed is 2 September 2026.
