The Environment Agency has gone out to tender with a contract for visual asset inspector accreditation for flood, coastal and environmental assets with an estimated value of £600,000 including VAT.

The current contract with JBA Consulting for T98 & T98a Visual Asset Inspection (New accreditation and Reaccreditation- Area Healthcheck) training ends on 21 October 2026. The Agency has used the last of the extension options available and now needs to undertake a procurement exercise.

The regulator says it needs Learning and Development support to undertake this and ensure there is no gaps in its ability to deliver this training. In order to achieve this, the Environment Agency is hoping to have completed the procurement exercise in time to commence the new contract on 22 October 2026.

Current estimated start and end contract dates are 22 October 2026 to 21 October 2029 with further possible extension options up to 21 October 2031.

Tender submission deadline is 12:00pm on 3 August 2026 and current estimated award decision date is 21 October 2026
