Yorkshire Water awards £81 million AMP8 contract for sewer network monitoring

Yorkshire Water has awarded an AMP8 contract for sewer network monitoring with an estimated value of £81 million (ex VAT).

Yorkshire Water tendered the contract in September 2024 seeking a partner(s) with a proven track record of providing sewer alarm monitoring hardware and associated services to support with the company’s ambition to reduce internal and external sewer flooding events throughout AMP8.

Yorkshire Water was looking to put a contract in place with a supplier(s) capable of delivering a full end-to-end solution – the water company was considering both Data As A Service and Asset Ownership models.

Scope of the requirement was for the following services:

  • Hardware Provision - Sewer Network Monitors, which are installed in sewers and monitor the levels of the sewer network, to mitigate potential floods
  • Network Provision - for receiving alarm data
  • Install, exchange and maintenance services

 

The contract for hardware provision - both close property loggers (Lot 1) and sewer network monitors (Lot 2) and network provision was tendered in two separate Lots:

  • Lot 1 Customer Sewer Alarms ( £24.5 million ex VAT)
  • Lot 2 Network Monitors (£57 million ex VAT)

 

Initial contract is 5 years with further potential extension options available of up to 3 years.

No information has been provided as yet with regard to the successful supplier(s) appointed to the contract.
