Three Local Authorities in Wales have jointly awarded a contract for a multi-disciplinary consultancy service for the delivery of core engineering services worth an estimated £70 million in total.

Core services to be delivered to Rhondda Cynon Taf Council, Bridgend County Borough Council and Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council under the agreement are:

• Civil and Highway Engineering Consultancy
• Transportation Consultancy
• Ground and Water Management Consultancy
• Site Supervision Consultancy
• Geotechnical Consultancy
• Structural Engineering Consultancy
• Cost Consultancy / Quantity Surveyor Services
• Project Management Services
• Ecologist

Non-core services that may also be delivered under the Agreement include:

• Archaeological and Cultural Heritage Consultancy
• Master Planning / Urban Design
• Architectural Design Services
• Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Design Services

Initial contract is 6 years commencing 1st April 2025 with the option to extend for a further 4 years.

WSP has been awarded a place on the multi-disciplinary contract, one of three organisations in the bidding for the work.
