NI Water is progressing the procurement process for its upcoming tender for water and wastewater networks maintenance and associated services with a supply chain event.

The water company has issued a Periodic Indicative Notice inviting suppliers to register for a Pre-Tender Information Session to inform the market of the water company’s procurement strategy and an insight to the social value requirements.
The event will be held by NI Water on Monday 15th January 2024 from 10.00-12.00 at the following location: FRC 1st Floor Conference Room. Finance & Regulation Building, Westland House, 40 Old Westland Road, Belfast, BT14 6TE.
Attendance will be limited to two representatives per supplier.
Anticipated indicative contract value range will be between £300 millionto £400 million.
Northern Ireland Water and its subsidiaries are procuring the contract for its Network Maintenance Programme to deliver water and wastewater network maintenance and associated services. The programme will deliver improvements, repairs and maintenance services across their water and wastewater network for the PC21 and PC27 Price Control periods.
Following extensive supplier engagement to inform the procurement strategy and to assess the capacity / capability of the market, the services will be split across 4 Lots as follows:
- Lot 1 - Water and Wastewater Networks Improvements Repairs and Maintenance Services
- Lot 2 - Wastewater Network Cleaning, Maintenance and Associated Services
- Lot 3 - Desludging of Septic Tanks
- Lot 4 - Water and Sewerage Service Provision, Meter Installation and Maintenance
Contract term will be for a maximum of 8 years in total, consisting of an initial 4 year contract period with potential to extend for up to 4 years.
.Procurement for the new contract is anticipated to commence in early 2024.
