Scottish Water tenders £15m contract for provision of land restoration outlets for bio-resource

Scottish Water has gone out to tender with a contract for provision of land restoration outlets for bio-resource worth an estimated £15 million.

Scottish Water Generic - Van

The water company is seeking to appoint a supplier to provide long term access to suitably licenced land restoration outlets for the recovery of Bio-Resource in the form of raw sewage cake, water treatment cake, and potentially some treated biosolids produced by Scottish Water.

The successful supplier will be required to maintain current and full regulatory permits appropriate to the outlet type. Scottish Water said it is imperative that odours are kept at a minimal level. The Supplier will be expected to work with the utility to mitigate the impact of odour from the activities of transportation, offloading and recovery to land at the outlet sites.

Estimated total value is £15 million.

Initial contract term is five years with three further annual extension options.

Time limit for receipt of tenders or requests to participate is 29 November 2021 – click here to access the tender documentation.
