NI Water has awarded a contract for the supply of metered electricity to its sites worth approximately £80 million in total.

The contract was tendered in five separate Lots – all of which have been awarded to Belfast-headquartered SSE Airtricity Energy Supply NI Ltd.

The energy company was one of two suppliers who bid for the contract – NI Water also received a tender from an unnamed company in an EU Member State.
