Scottish Water tenders £60m contract for supply & services of filtration media

Scottish Water has gone out to tender with a contract for the supply and services of filtration media worth an estimated £60 million in total.

The water company is looking to enter a partnership with a service provider to provide a range of services, including:

  • Supply of filtration media (sand and GAC)
  • Installation/removal of media in wash units for advanced flushing (where applicable), to
  • bring within the required water quality limits
  • Removal of existing used media and off-site disposal
  • Cleaning of the filter internals
  • Inspection of filters vessels
  • Capital Maintenance of filter structure and internals, if required
  • Installation of new media
  • Flush media to waste and return filter back to Scottish Water
  • Provision of hand over pack to Scottish Water, including report on condition of filler vessel

 

Initial contract term is three years, with three further one year extension options.
