United Utilities tenders £11m-plus monitoring and control instrumentation framework contract

United Utilities has gone out to tender with a wide-ranging contract to put an AMP7 monitoring and control instrumentation framework agreement in place worth an estimated £11.35 million in total.

The Agreement is to ensure that the water company receives accurate and reliable data from its instruments. United Utilities wants to monitor the rate, volume and quality of the water and wastewater throughout its sites and networks while providing standardisation and consistency across all of sites in order to reduce overall costs.

The contracts is being tendered in 20 Lots - the maximum number of Lots that can be awarded to an individual tenderer is 20. The Lots are:

  • Lot 1 pH & Conductivity
  • Lot 2 Chlorine Residual Analysers
  • Lot 3 Turbidity & Suspended Solids Meters
  • Lot 4 Water Treatment Analysers (Iron, Aluminium & Manganese)
  • Lot 5 Waste Water Iron Analysers
  • Lot 6 Dissolved Oxygen Monitors & Sludge Blanket Depth/Interface detectors
  • Lot 7 Nutrient Analysers
  • Lot 8 Level Switches – Conductive UV Monitors
  • Lot 9 Level Switches – Conductive
  • Lot 10 Level – Hydrostatic Head
  • Lot 11 Level – Ultrasonic
  • Lot 12 Level - Radar
  • Lot 13 Level - Open Channel
  • Lot 14 Electromagnetic Flowmeters
  • Lot 15 Area Velocity Flowmeters
  • Lot 16 Clamp on Flowmeter – Ultrasonic Flow
  • Lot 17 Thermal Mass Gas Flowmeters
  • Lot 18 Temperature & Pressure Monitors
  • Lot 19 MCert Compliant Samplers
  • Lot 20 Multivariable Network Quality Analyser

 

United Utilities is aiming to set up mandatory kit framework agreements with suppliers who are capable of supplying and delivering any number of the monitoring and control instrumentation Lots.

The mandatory kit framework agreements will be used by both the water company for replacement equipment, spares and consumables as well as a number of UU appointed parties who are mandated to engage directly with kit framework providers to deliver work.

Initial contract term is two years with six further annual extension options.
