Scottish Water tenders £20m ground Investigations contract

Scottish Water has gone out to tender with a contract for ground Investigations for design and construction of clean and dirty water infrastructure worth an estimated £20 million.

The ground investigation contractor appointed will be required to provide ground investigation for design and construction (by others) of clean and dirty water infrastructure, including:

  • treatment works
  • pumping stations
  • water pipelines
  • sewers
  • shafts
  • manholes
  • chambers
  • pipe jacks
  • guided auger bores

The successful contractors will also be required to assess mining and contamination/ waste risk and carry out all ground investigation aspects of pre-site works, site works and post site works activities.

The contractor will not be required to provide consultancy services to ensure adequacy of the design of the project for which the works and services are carried out.

However, Scottish Water said that liaison and collaboration with other delivery partners will be required to achieve the aims of the investigation and project.

Ground investigation will involve pre-site works, site works and post site works.

Intial contract term is four years, with four further annual extension options.
