NI Water tenders £4.72m contract for emergency laboratory analysis services

NI Water has gone out to tender with a contract for the provision of emergency laboratory analysis services worth an estimated £4.72 million.

LAB ANALYSIS 1

The contract covers backup analysis (including the supply of prepared sample bottles) and if required the collection and delivery of samples, in order to provide contingency measures in the event that there is a failure to supply any or all of an analytical service from one or both of NI Water’s laboratories.

Under the clean and waste water regulations the water company is required to provide timely and accredited results to its regulators for compliance and operational purposes and also during major incidents.

In addition to any ad hoc backup analysis requirement, there will also be an element of planned analysis to be carried out at regular intervals during the life of the contract.

The contract is being tendered in the following Lots:

Lot 1 — Clean Water MIP

Lot 2 — Waste Water MIP

Lot 3 — Clean Water and Waste Water Other Operationally Significant Parameters
