Thames Water has awarded a framework contract for the maintenance of its dewatering equipment worth an estimated £14.6 million in total.
The type of maintenance is for shared/total care where the suppliers are responsible for the availability of the equipment. Under the total care maintenance agreement, Thames Water will not be performing any maintenance tasks, while on a shared care maintenance agreement, Thames Water will operate defined front line basic daily maintenance activities.
The contract was tendered in two separate Lots:
Lot 1: Shared care maintenance of all Belt Filter Presses and Gravity Belt Thickeners.
Lot 2: Total care maintenance of all Bucher Presses.
Thames Water has 32 belt filter presses 55 gravity belt thickeners and 19 Bucher presses across its region.
London-based firm Brettex Site Services has been awarded both Lots. Initial contract term is 3 years, with options to extend for a further five years.
