The North London Waste Authority is planning to hold a market information event in October for interested suppliers and contractors about its plans for a major construction project at the Edmonton EcoPark.
The event is the start of the procurement process for a contractor for the construction of a resource recovery facility (RRF), EcoPark house and related works, including hard and soft landscaping, services and utilities.
The works will include:
- Resource Recovery Facility incorporating a reuse and recycling centre and associated works including surface water pumps, pipework and attenuation tanks and landscaping
- construction of a building - EcoPark House including hard standing, drainage, earthworks, landscaping and clearance of the wharf
- works to the existing utilities relating to the RRF and EcoPark House, laying and installation of new utilities and groundworks
The works include the relocation or decommissioning of existing and the laying of new pipes, cables and systems for portable water, wastewater, surface water, foul water, process water, electricity, gas, and CCTV, telecoms and data.
The purpose of the market information event is to launch the Authority’s revised procurement strategy and explain in greater detail the opportunities associated with the works. The event will be an opportunity for contractors and suppliers to gain more information about:
- the authority’s vision for a successful project
- the works package value, programme and contract details
- the approach to procurement
- early contractor involvement
- balance of risk between client and contractors
