NI Water awards £21m wastewater treatment equipment contract

NI Water has awarded a contract for wastewater treatment equipment worth an estimated £21 million.

The contract, which was tendered in 2 Lots, is for the supply, testing and commissioning of Rotating Biological Contactors (RBCs) to the water company.

Lot 1, for Packaged RBC Plants, is worth an estimated £14 million in total. Aylesbury based Kee Process Ltd and Wednesbury firm Tuke and Bell Ltd have both been awarded contracts - the only two companies who bid for the work.

Both firms have also won contracts under Lot 2 for Modular RBCs, together with West Midlands headquartered firm Jacopa Ltd. Four companies were in the bidding for the work, which is worth an estimated £7 million.
