Scottish Water awards £300m IT Directorate Partner contract

Scottish Water has awarded an Information Technology Directorate Partner contract worth up to between £200 million to £300 million over an 8 year period.

The successful suppliers will operate Scottish Water’s IT estate via a partnering approach to deliver the utility’s ambitious vision for the extensive future use of technology throughout the Scottish Water business.

Scottish Water selected and negotiated with its new partners to replace existing outsourcing contracts during 2017 for transition to the new contracts in 2018.

The contract, which was tendered in 2 Lots, has been awarded to Capgemini UK plc and Atos.

Cap Gemini has won the Lot 1 contract for customer centric services which focuses on the end-to-end customer experience, application management and management of change.

Atos has won the Lot 2 IT infrastructure and logistics contract which is focused on the delivery of core IT services including infrastructure and networks.

Both Lots include partnership and project delivery services which will require both companies to work closely with the water company to deliver innovative strategies and designs that will drive substantial new value for Scottish Water from technology.

Estimated value for the intended 8 year period is £100 million to £150 million respectively for each contract.
