Scottish Water tenders £5m CHP and CCHP Units contract

Scottish Water has gone out to tender with a contract for the supply, installation and maintenance of CHP and CCHP units worth an estimated £5 million.

Scottish Water Horizons (SWH) is looking for a supplier or group of suppliers that have the in-house capability to design, supply, install and commission CHP (Combined Heat & Power) and CCHP (Combined Cooling, Heat & Power) units at sites throughout Scotland.

SWH wants to utilise both non-renewable fossil based fuel as well as renewable fuel sources, the  intention being to use the CHP/CCHP system as a primary source of power, heat and potentially cooling. Power may also be used on site to offset site load and/or exported directly to the National Grid. Heat produced may be used as process heat, site domestic heating or exported to District heating networks.

In addition to providing commercial competitiveness, SWH is looking for suppliers to provide a full turnkey solution.

Time limit for receipt of tenders or requests to participate is 20th March 2017 – click here to access the tender documentation.
