Severn Trent Water awards £2.6m tertiary solids removal contract

Severn Trent Water has awarded two Lots of a contract for tertiary solids removal worth an estimated £2.6 million.

The contract covers the design, manufacture, supply, delivery, installation, testing and commissioning of tertiary solids removal associated with waste water and sewage treatment plants.

The tender evaluation process for a number of other Lots  is currently on-going following a review of programme requirements for technology.

The procurement of Lot 5 for Innovation in Tertiary Solids Removal is not being progressed as awarding this Lot “will restrict access to emerging technologies in the future.”

The UVDB process identified 202 suppliers pre-qualified for the tender - 63 responded via the UVDB, 36 registered on the electronic portal and received the Tender Documents, and 2 (Cloth) and 4 (COUF) submitted bids against the Tender.

Lot 2 of the contract for Cloth Filters has been awarded to Cornish firm Hydrok (UK) Ltd, one of the two companies who bid for the work, while Lot 3 for Continuous Operational Up-flow Filter has been awarded to Ulster-based Colloide Engineering Systems Ltd, one of four firms who tendered for the contract.
