Northumbrian Water tenders PR19 market research contract

Northumbrian Water has gone out to tender for research and consultancy services as it currently works towards the 2019 price review to inform its PR19 business plan.

The work could be carried out under any of the Northumbrian water and Essex and Suffolk Water operating areas i.e. the North East of England, Essex and Suffolk.

The water company is looking to appoint up to ten suppliers to the framework agreement, which will run for 6 years.

Estimated total value for the entire duration of the framework agreement is put at between £700k  to £800k.

Northumbrian Water is looking for framework partners to provide research and consultancy services as it currently works towards the PR19 2019 price review. The water company regularly undertakes economic research and engagement to inform the business plans submit to Ofwat at each price review.

The utility plans to undertake both qualitative and quantitative research to understand customers' priorities. Alongside this, NWL also requires other professional services to consult on the use of the information it obtains from research to build suitable models from which it can devise cost effective plans.

The external support research framework will be a minimum of three years to ensure full coverage of the PR19 submission process, with a possible three year extension to lead up to the next periodic review in 2024 (PR24).
