NI Water tenders £4m laboratory consumables contract

Northern Ireland Water has gone out to tender with a framework contract for laboratory instrument maintenance, spare parts and consumables worth up to £4 million.

The tender is to establish a contract where all current and possible future instrument maintenance, calibration, spare parts, consumables and some chemicals for the water company’s requirements can be purchased

The services and supplies required relate to a number of analytical equipment systems and instruments installed from various manufacturers and suppliers requiring planned, unplanned and cyclical maintenance, calibration and repairs.

The contract is divided into 32 Lots in total – interested suppliers can submit bids for some or all of the Lots.

Equipment including temperature monitoring systems and temperature probes, balances, gas monitoring, pressure testing, microscopes, flow meters, centrifuges, autoclaves and equipment supplied by Hach Instruments, Peerless, IDEXX Elution Systems and Millipore Systems are just some of the Lots covered by the wide-ranging contract, which will run for an initial five years with further available extension options.
