Sunderland City Council tenders £1.5bn civil engineering and infrastructure works contract

Sunderland City Council has gone out to tender with a civil engineering and infrastructure works contract for itself and a number of other organisations worth up to £1.5 billion.

The Council is acting on behalf of the North East Procurement Organisation (NEPO) and looking to put in place a framework for the provision of civil engineering and infrastructure works.

NEPO members include eight other local authorities, together with a number of other public sector organisations in the North East region.

The four year framework agreement has an estimated value put at between £900 million to £1.5 billion.

The framework will be divided into 15 Lots based on type of work and value. The types of works are:

  • Infrastructure Projects;
  • Highways;
  • Marine, Coastal;
  • Highways structures;
  • Drainage;
  • Public Realms.

The agreement will also be made available to all current and future NEPO Associate Members throughout the North East Region.

Sunderland Council said that while attendance at the briefing is not a mandatory part of the tender process it is recommended.
