Thames Water is planning to publish a new report setting out the  environmental case for the Thames Tunnel.

Anglian Water is starting work next month to protect the shorelines at Rutland reservoir as part of a £10 million, two year project, to secure more than 18km of shoreline at three drinking water reservoirs across the region.

 

Aqua Resources Fund Limited, the Authorised Closed-ended investment scheme managed by FourWinds Capital Management and established to invest in global water opportunities, has today issued its audited results for the year ended 31 December 2011.

ABB, the Swiss-Swedish electrical engineering group which is prominent in the UK water industry, said its sales and profits rose in the first quarter of 2012, but operating margins slipped to 13.9 per cent from 15.7 per cent in the last quarter.

 

Severn Trent Water has submitted its planning application to build two new service reservoirs near Ambergate in Derbyshire.

Leading economic analysts Markit have said that this morning’s gloomy news on the economy from the Office for National Statistics could deliver a fatal blow to the fragile revival of consumer and business confidence, harm the recovery and even send the UK back into a ‘real’ recession.

Arup has been selected by HS2 Ltd to deliver the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and the civil and structural design services for phase 1 of the UK's High Speed rail line from London to Birmingham. In February United Utilities suggested that a £2.6 billion pipeline to pump water from the North to water-stressed Southern England  could be built to run alongside the proposed route.

The Competition Commission (CC) has today (23 April) provisionally cleared South Staffs Water's completed acquisition of Cambridge Water.

 

Yorkshire Water is constructing a new anaerobic digestion plant at its waste water treatment works in Sheffield, which will generate renewable electricity and cut the company's carbon emissions.

 

Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies will design and build an extension to the existing Sludge Pasteurisation Plant at Thames Water’s Mogden Sewage Treatment Works.
