South East Water customers is inviting stakeholders to come and see plans for a new £6.5 million water pipeline to help to secure water supplies for existing and future customers.

The Company is proposing to install a £6.5 million 5.5km strategic water mains in Swinley Forest through to Birch Hill in Autumn 2014. The new water pipelines are required to increase storage and distribution capacity of the existing network to provide for planned growth in the area. The proposed work will maximise use of existing resources and would be the equivalent to building a 25,000 litres service reservoir.

South East Water is holding a public exhibition in Bracknell on Wednesday 2nd October to allow local residents, and other interested groups and organisations, to see its proposals for the new pipeline.

“This is an essential scheme to ensure we can meet the growing demand for water each year. We are still at the initial planning stages and this exhibition forms part an important part of the consultation process.

“We are committed to working closely with the local community and users of Swinley Forest to ensure their views are listened to. We hope that local residents and interested groups will visit us on the 2nd October and speak to the project team who will be on hand to answer any questions regarding the planned work.”

The exhibition forms part of the formal planning process which allows the local community, to view the Company’s proposals and make comments before the planning applications are submitted to Bracknell Forest Council and Surrey Heath Borough Council.
