Severn Trent progresses work on £25 million project to replace 40km of ageing water pipes

Severn Trent is continuing to progress work on its major £25 million investment programme in Stoke-on-Trent to replace 40km of ageing water pipes.

aimed at securing a reliable water supply for generations to come and will host its next drop-in event.

More than £25 million is being invested into the replacement ofwhich is helping to improve the infrastructure for customers.

The project to replace the water pipes in the Hanley, Sneyd Green, and Burslem areas to address the issues of a number of bursts and leaks

Work began on the phased delivery of the major project of upgrades to the water network in Stoke on 1 April 2025 and will provide the city with a more reliable water supply.

Severn Trent’s contractor partners Pipeline Utilities and McAndrew Utilities are carrying out the work. The whole of the project is expected to be completed by April 2027.

Next week will see Severn Trent host the next in a series of drop-in events on Wednesday 24 September to set out how the work is progressing and provide the local community with the opportunity to discuss the £25 million water pipes improvement works.
