Southern Water Business Partnership Fund is open for third round

Southern Water Business Partnership Fund is open for business – and the water company is on the look-out for new and innovative ideas to help reduce water use in businesses across Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Sussex and Kent.

This is the third round of the Business Partnership Fund which is open to all retailers, businesses and third-party conservation providers in these regions.

The fund has now been reopened and Southern Water will be accepting applications until 31 December 2024.

Previous awards from the fund have included:

  • Riverside Country Park in Kent received a £31k business grant to install a ‘Rhino Tank’ which harvests rainwater from their roofs and gutters so water can be pumped into the visitor centre, to flush the toilets.
  • Splash Point Leisure Centre in Worthing will use their £40k business grant to re-use swimming pool water with an industrial filter. It has the potential to save 7,100 litres of water per day.

 

Eligible projects must meet the following criteria:

Water Supplier

Southern Water must supply the mains water to the business

Business Location

It must deliver water savings in Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Sussex or Kent. It must save mains tap water and demonstrate a tangible, sustainable reduction in water use (litres/day saved as a result of the project) within 12 months of receiving funds from Southern Water

Financial Contribution

There must be a financial contribution to the project made by the business that receives the water supply and total amount of funding applied for not to exceed £40,000 per project.

Cost per litre saved

Cost per litre per day saved not to exceed £10.00

Reporting

Companies must be able to provide a monthly update once the project has launched and a full case study at the end.
