Irish Water progresses €35 million strategic Leixlip Transfer Pipeline project

Irish Water is progressing with the Leixlip Transfer Pipeline, a strategically important wastewater project that will support economic and social development of Leixlip and the surrounding area.

IRISH WATERThe project involves the construction of 13km of new wastewater pipelines from Leixlip to Blanchardstown as well as the construction of a new wastewater pumping station in Leixlip Wastewater Treatment Plant. BAM Civil limited is delivering the works on behalf of Irish Water. The majority of the works will be carried out on agricultural land.

Survey works are expected to commence in the coming weeks. Construction works will follow on and are scheduled to start in early summer and will take approximately 24 months to complete.

Speaking about the project, Olive Marshall, Irish Water said:

The project represents a significant investment of €35 million by Irish Water to upgrade and safeguard the wastewater network serving Leixlip and the surrounding area.”
