Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water has invested £870,000 in the Prestatyn area with the upgrade of two sewerage pumping stations.
The water company has installed new pumps both at Marine Park sewerage pumping station near Ffordd Penrhwylfa and also at Coronation Gardens sewerage pumping station close to the railway station.
The stations transport wastewater from households and businesses through the sewer network on to Llanasa wastewater treatment works for treatment.
Welsh Water has also adopted the Tower Gardens sewerage pumping station allowing the company to be able to maintain and undertake regular inspections of its new asset and carry out any upgrades that may be required in the future.
Welsh Water’s Catchment Manager for Wastewater Services North East, Nigel Lee said:
“We are pleased to have invested in our local network in Prestatyn so that we can continue to provide an essential public service to local customers. These essential schemes reflect our commitment to continue investing in our wastewater network for the benefit of our customers and the wider environment in our area.”
