Severn Trent starts work on £2m water network upgrade

Severn Trent Water has started work today on a major £2 million water network upgrade investment to help make water supplies in the Bilston area more reliable.

The water company’s contract partner Amey will be carrying out the work, which is planned to take two months.

Dave Kiernan, programme engineer on the schene, explained:

“We want to make sure our customers continue to receive a reliable water supply. Unfortunately, the water pipes in the Bilston area are now old and have started to leak, which could lead to interruptions in the water supply. To help stop this from happening, we’re investing a whopping £2 million to install around 12 kilometres of new water pipes in the area.”
