Bristol Water has been shortlisted for a Water Industry Achievement Award (WIAA), along with Wessex Water and Bristol City Council.
Working in partnership, they have forged the Bristol Code of Conduct project which has helped reduce disruption caused by street works and road works.
The Code has already picked up the NJUG “Minimise Disruption Award” (National Joint Utilities Group) and has been now shortlisted for the WIAA Partnership Initiative of the Year category; the winner will be announced in April.
The Code has introduced limited working along strategic corridors, a collaborative list of works ongoing with weekly comments on major schemes and strict rules on the use of portable traffic signals. Its first year results have shown that 150 days of congestion have been saved due to site sharing and working together.
