Following clarification with Sutton and East Surrey Water, Waterbriefing would like to confirm that the company has not yet made any decision to either accept or reject Ofwat’s Final Determination.
An article on Waterbriefing yesterday incorrectly stated that SESW had accepted the regulator’s Final Determination published on 12th December.
We should like to make clear that this is not in fact the case – to date Sutton and East Surrey Water has only announced that it has decided to adopt the target (or “menu choice”) already included within Ofwat’s final determination.
As part of accepting Ofwat’s decision, the company has had to decide on its total expenditure target for the period 2015 to 2020.
The timetable for the Price Review allows companies two months to make that decision. Sutton and East Surrey Water said it is on track for completing its consideration of the five-year package in that time. The water company will notify the regulator of its decision as soon as it is made.
